A place for us

The Brain Injury Community Inc. has been established to provide social and support links for people with a Brain Injury, their loved ones, their support network and professionals wishing to learn how to improve their understanding and awareness of brain injuries.  We will help them to navigate their path to a better understanding of Brain Injury and to provide the support they so desperately need.

About Us

Membership Program

If you or your family have been directly involved with someone with a Brain Injury, or your organisation may like to be involved in a variety of awareness and education programs we are running, we would love to have you on board!

Service Provider Workshops

We aim to educate health care providers and families to better understand people with a brain injury. The workshop highlights the importance of validation and language when communicating with all Brain Injury individuals.

So many who have a brain injury and the families affected are not provided with specialised support. Having participated in this workshop, your staff will gain knowledge in order to offer specialised support.

Volunteer

As a charity, we value all of our volunteers who help bring our vision to life: alleviate the isolation felt by those with a brain injury and make a positive contribution to society.
There are many different types and forms of volunteerism. You may have skills to assist us in running the Charity, assist with event and networking, or simply spend time guiding someone with a Brain Injury or their loved ones.

What I liked best about the workshop was learning new language and new ways to validate participants and members within the community.

The manual was full of great information that can be implemented as a support worker. Hearing Angela's story and how she was transformed living with the reality of her brain injury gives more meaning to the work and support our staff provide.

Thank you Angela for your time and sharing an extremely challenging experience which will help support staff with extra knowledge.
